Rep. Beau Baird Appointed Chair of Indiana State Fair Commission Advisory Committee

Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston has appointed State Representative Beau Baird as the new chair of the Indiana State Fair Commission Advisory Committee. In this position, Baird will help guide the policies and initiatives that support the Indiana State Fair, a longstanding institution dedicated to showcasing the state’s agricultural heritage, youth programs, and community engagement.
“I am honored to be appointed as chair of the Indiana State Fair Commission Advisory Committee,” Baird said in a statement. “The Indiana State Fair is a cornerstone of our state’s agricultural tradition and economic growth. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure its continued success and to support the farmers, businesses and communities that make it great.”
The Indiana State Fair Commission Advisory Committee is instrumental in reviewing the policies and programs of both the Indiana State Fair Commission and the Indiana State Fair Board. The committee plays a vital role in overseeing the operations of the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, a 214-acre facility located in Indianapolis that serves as the venue for the annual State Fair and various other events throughout the year.
In addition to his new role, Baird currently serves as the chair of the House Environmental Affairs Committee. A lifelong Hoosier, Baird has been a strong advocate for Indiana agriculture and rural communities. His leadership will be essential in continuing to elevate the Indiana State Fair as a premier event for families, exhibitors, and visitors.
The Indiana State Fair, founded in 1852, is one of the nation’s longest-running state fairs, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The fair features livestock exhibitions, 4-H competitions, entertainment, and educational programming, all designed to highlight the state’s agricultural and cultural heritage.
In 2025, the Indiana State Fair will take place from August 1 to August 17, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis. The fair will be closed on Mondays during this period, offering an exciting array of attractions throughout the remaining days. Visitors can look forward to a variety of events that showcase Indiana’s rich agricultural tradition and cultural heritage.
With Baird’s appointment, the Indiana State Fair Commission Advisory Committee is poised for continued success in supporting and promoting one of Indiana’s most cherished traditions.
