With One Voice, Georgia House Stands Against Terror and for Strong Alliances

In a rare display of bipartisan unity, members of the Georgia House of Representatives have introduced a resolution commending former President Donald J. Trump’s leadership on national security, condemning Iranian aggression, and honoring Georgians lost to acts of terror. The measure emphasizes the state’s unwavering support for American strength and its close alliance with Israel in the face of mounting global threats.
The resolution applauds Trump’s commitment to confronting hostile regimes and defending democratic values, specifically recognizing his stance that “Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.” It affirms the belief long held by Georgia leaders that peace is best preserved through strength—a foreign policy approach embraced by defenders of liberty across the globe.
AllOnGeorgia.com reported that House Speaker Jon Burns remarked, “Through Operation Midnight Hammer, the United States sent a clear message—we will never waver in our support of Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East, especially as they defend themselves and the rest of the world from the threat of Iranian nuclear capability. Our nation has remained firm in our resolve that Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon, and I’m proud that a majority of our members in the Georgia House fully support the actions taken by President Trump to put American interests first and deliver peace through strength.”
The resolution also offers solemn tribute to those in Georgia whose lives were lost due to Iranian-backed violence, including three U.S. Army Reserve soldiers—Staff Sgt. William Rivers of Carrollton, Spc. Kennedy Sanders of Waycross, and Spc. Breonna Moffett of Savannah—who were killed in a January 2024 drone attack on Tower 22 in Jordan. It honors Sgt. Rose Lubin, a native of Atlanta serving with the Israeli Border Police, who was murdered in Jerusalem during a wave of Iran-fueled terror following the October 7 Hamas massacre.
Lawmakers acknowledged the pain of Georgia families who lost loved ones in the October 7 attack, which killed over 1,200 civilians, including at least 30 Americans. The resolution reaffirms the state’s commitment to standing alongside Israel and the United States in their joint efforts to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to dismantle terrorist networks across the region.
Finally, the resolution extends gratitude to Georgians serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, the Israel Defense Forces, and those working in defense, cybersecurity, intelligence, and aerospace—many of whom contribute directly to national and global security operations.
By standing together across party lines, Georgia lawmakers sent a clear message: the state supports strong leadership, honors its fallen, and remains firmly committed to the safety of its citizens and allies in the fight against terrorism and tyranny.
