America’s 250th Birthday—and Country Music Is Throwing the First Party

The countdown to America’s 250th birthday begins with a star-studded tribute to the heartland’s most iconic sound: country music.
In a powerful lead-up to the nation’s semiquincentennial, the “250th Anniversary Kick-Off Country Celebration” will air on RFD-TV this Independence Day, featuring a concert packed with legendary artists whose songs helped define a generation. The televised event—recorded in Nashville—will premiere July 4 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET, with an encore broadcast on July 5 at 7 p.m. ET.
The special will include unforgettable performances by The Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Greenwood, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, The Bellamy Brothers, Exile, T. Graham Brown, Shenandoah’s Marty Raybon, Restless Heart’s Larry Stewart, Tim Rushlow, Eddy Raven, David Frizzell, and Lisa Matassa. Each artist will deliver one of their most celebrated hits in a showcase designed to spark nostalgia and national pride.
“Country music comes from the heartland of America,” said Frank Matassa, executive producer of the special. “We’ve brought together artists from the ’80s and ’90s to create a sing-along celebration for fans across the country.”
More than just a concert, the program will take viewers on a scenic and symbolic journey across America. From Gettysburg National Military Park and George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate to the Liberty Bell, Pearl Harbor National Memorial, and The Alamo, the special will spotlight places that define the nation’s spirit and history.
“We live in the greatest nation in the world,” said country star T. Graham Brown. “To be able to perform with so many great artists and friends to honor America is very special to me.”
This concert marks the start of a year-long celebration leading up to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026. That countdown begins officially at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, where a “Salute to America” event will feature remarks by the President of the United States, patriotic entertainment, and a fireworks show to honor the road ahead.
As the nation looks toward a milestone moment in history, this July 4 celebration invites Americans everywhere to tune in, sing along, and remember what unites us.
