As summer begins its gentle fade and the structure of fall looms just ahead, there’s no better moment to push pause. In this 4-week series, health and wellness expert Heather Jenkins guides us through a mindful reset—one week at a time—designed to help you reconnect with yourself before the bustle of a new season begins.

Week 1: Reflect + Refocus

As the carefree days of summer begin to shift into the structure of fall, August becomes the perfect time to slow down and check in with yourself. Before the rush of September arrives, take this week to intentionally pause. We often skip this step and dive headfirst into new goals and routines, only to feel burnt out weeks later. Reflection gives your mind and body a moment to process the last few months and gently prepare for what’s next.

Start by carving out just 10-15 minutes each day for quiet reflection. Sit outside in the morning with a journal, walk without your phone, or simply breathe deeply in a peaceful space. Reflect on what brought you joy this summer, what drained you, and what you’re ready to leave behind. This isn’t about judgment it’s about gentle awareness.

Try the 3-3-3 Reset Check-in, write down:
3 things you’re grateful for.
3 things you’re ready to release.
3 intentions or goals for the rest of August.

Self-Care Ritual:
Take an Epsom salt bath with soft music and a candle. Schedule time on your calendar each week dedicated to you and your self-care routine.

Journal:
What is one thing I want to feel more of this month, and what’s one small step I can take toward that feeling.


As you move through this first week of reflection, remember that stillness is not unproductive—it’s powerful. Giving yourself space to pause, process, and realign isn’t just a luxury; it’s a vital step toward lasting well-being. Let go of the pressure to have it all figured out.
