Voters Split on Trump’s Diplomatic Efforts with Russia and Ukraine

President Trump’s recent meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and European leaders are drawing mixed reactions from voters, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll. While 42% believe the diplomacy improved the chances of a Russia-Ukraine peace deal, 38% say it made peace less likely, and 21% are unsure. The survey also found 46% consider the meetings successful, while 45% disagree—highlighting a stark partisan divide, with Republicans far more supportive than Democrats or independents. The poll was conducted August 19–21 among 1,127 likely U.S. voters.
