Biden’s Decline Was No Secret—So Why Did the Media Lie? The Internet Has the Receipts

Do Democrats and the legacy linear media think they are the only people who are familiar with Google and YouTube?  How else to explain the approach they are taking concerning how they handled the obvious cognitive decline of Joe Biden in the 2024 Presidential election?  Their lack of self-awareness is matched only by their lack of contrition.  Somehow, they have completely ignored the reality that to be trusted, you have to be trustworthy.

You can make excuses and a weak case for what Democrat partisans did.  After all, their business model very much includes getting elected to office.  At the same time, there is an expectation they do believe what they are saying and doing.  Do you remember how indignant they were when anyone insinuated President Biden was anything other than sharp as a tack?  His state-of-the-union was to be treated as this generation’s Gettysburg Address.  After it was given, while they (and the media) fell all over themselves telling us how great he had done.  Unfortunately, two days later, the American public did not agree with that assessment.

Show me one Democrat of consequence who uttered word one about it being abundantly clear the man was not up to the job prior to his performance at the June 27 debate.  Look at the tape.  Day after day, we were assured Joe Biden was fit and ready.

Even after the debate disaster, those in the White House and campaign decried the “bed wetters” who were ready to move on.  Of course, this took place after the “he just had a bad night” defense blew up in their faces.  The President’s press secretary called video evidence of the President being lost in space “cheap fakes.”    

It is disheartening Democrats were willing to lie to themselves and the rest of us, because of their desire to maintain power.  Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) allowed them to rationalize doing this all in the name of saving democracy.  Still, what the legacy linear media did, and continues to do, is nothing less than a betrayal of all that has defined professional journalism. 

Every step of the way, the legacy linear media toed the line.  Joe Biden was fine and dandy (never been better, sharp as a tack, etc.) and Donald Trump was a dangerous “convicted felon.”

Watching the media continuing to refuse to be anything close to honest just contributes to why they are so distrusted.  They are writing books that include vast amounts of evidence that those close to President Biden knew his brain was jelly, and arguing the media had been misled.

The media still cannot muster the courage to admit the reason the story on Biden’s deterioration was barely reported is they willingly and actively joined with Democrats to do the misleading.  It was not until the spring of 2024 the Wall Street Journal published a deeply sourced story essentially confirming the obvious—Joe Biden simply was not fit to hold the office of President, much less serve another four years.

How did the rest of the media react to the WSJ story?  Exactly as the Democratic politicians did.  “Sources are not named.  This is not what we are seeing with our eyes and experiences with him.  It is wrong for the rightwing media to try and smear the President.”  Never mind the irony of the media crying crocodile tears over unnamed sources.  What is critical is that in real time, zero effort to determine the truth took place.  Most cynical of all was the insertion of the “could not independently confirm” defense for not reporting it.  You know, the same thing as Hunter Biden’s computer.  Here is a tip for those in the Fourth Estate.  If you don’t actually investigate something, you are unlikely to find out much.

When the Democrats decided to remove Biden from the ballot for the crime of being behind in the polls, the media fell all over themselves, attempting to put perfume on the pig.  No reason to think defenders of democracy should not nominate someone for President who has never received a single vote for the office.  With a straight face, they joined the voices arguing he had done such a great job, we should add him to Mt. Rushmore.

Every day, we see the legacy linear media become more irrelevant.  In no small part, they have brought it upon themselves.  Together with Democrats, they are trying to sell a story that is not being bought.

Remember this:  Democrats can be expected to defend a President of their party.  On the other hand, the media cannot restore trust until they come clean.  They need to loudly proclaim that they betrayed every principle of honest journalism, for which they are now sorry.  First, you need to repent.  Then, you might be redeemed.  What do you think?
