Blaming Trump Before the Rescue Ends? Progressives Cross the Line in Texas Tragedy

Chuck Schumer could not even wait for the rescue mission to be completed before he blamed President Trump and Republicans for the tragedy that took place over the Fourth of July weekend in Texas.  Worst, this was just the start of the blame game from progressives, including their fellow travelers, the legacy corporate media.

No honest and serious accounting of the events would justify this sort of attack.  To instantly turn this terrible event into a political matter is disgusting to those outside the progressive base.  More on that later.

In the immediate aftermath, the progressives argued that budget cuts by President Trump had gutted the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and its National Weather Service (NWS), causing them to be so short that they were unable to either properly monitor and predict the storm or provide sufficient warnings.  This is otherwise known as utter and complete BS.

The budget cuts do not even start to go into effect until next year.  Prior to Trump assuming office, NOAA had initiated a 10 percent reduction of staff.  NOAA has specifically confirmed they had the same level of personnel as has been the case for other, more recent events such as Hurricane Helena.  As to warnings, they were performed as they had been in the past.

The most recent accusations center on Donald Trump rejecting the progressive positions on the environment and their agenda.  Thus, he is denying climate change, which was responsible for the hurricane.  Even if you could prove a cause-and-effect relationship between climate change and the flooding, which you cannot, the accusation that President Trump’s views on the matter caused diddly squat on anything is ridiculous.   The man has not been in office for six months.  Even progressives ought to be able to agree that a problem that is this big to them could not be significantly improved in that timeframe.  It is silly and insulting to argue differently.

The talking heads on CNN and MSNBC parroted the “Trump did it” lie.  By Monday morning, anyone who asserted a systematic failure had taken place had to fully know they were peddling a lie.  Shockingly, CBS, of all the legacy corporate media, actually provided a balanced and accurate accounting of events on its Monday night evening news broadcast.  Those who persist in continuing to parrot the progressive line are providing just one more reason why they are held in contempt by so many.

Most shocking have been the social media posts coming from the progressive world.  One Texas pediatrician, Christina Probs,t outdid herself.  “May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters, and pets be safe and dry.  Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA.  They deny climate change.  May they get what they voted for.  Bless their hearts.”  The woman is a doctor

Take a gander at what Sade Perkins had to say.  She has been serving on a Houston board, appointed by the Democratic Mayor.  “But Camp Mystic is a Whites-only girls’ Christian camp.  They don’t even have a token Asian; they don’t have a Token Black person, it is an all White, White-only conservative Christian camp.”  She added, “It’s not to say that we don’t want the girls to be found, whatever girls that are missing…but you best believe, especially in today’s political climate, if this were a group of Hispanic girls…this would not be getting this type of coverage they are getting.  No one would give a f-k.”

She concluded with “They want you to have sympathy for these people.  They want to out of your bed and to come out of your home and to go find these people and to donate your money to go to find these people.”  You think?

Progressives are checking all he boxes. Trying to politicize a tragedy and blame it on President Trump.  Check.  Essentially, saying these girls and their families got what they deserved.  Check.  Bring race into it.  Check.  All of this may thrill progressives and their public relations arm, the legacy corporate media.  I don’t think I am alone in saying it makes me want to puke.

Common Sense:  Progressives can be as ugly as they want.  However, when you get past those inside their elitist liberal bubble, it makes the rest of us sick to our stomachs.  Keep it up.
