The Unholy Trinity Is Losing Its Grip — And America Is Better for It

A Dominant Narrative on the Decline

For far too long, a single political ideology has dominated the worlds of academia, entertainment, and “mainstream” journalism. The only debate in this Unholy trinity is between very progressive and radical progressive. Institutions that should be focused on entertaining, educating, and informing have drifted into the world of advancing one political agenda (progressive) and demonizing another (conservative). Fortunately, largely due to the changing information ecosystem, these three are now largely left to talking to themselves. Vast numbers of Americans are rejecting this rigid, unyielding, dogmatic approach, which is now deservedly gasping for air as their domination is on the wane.

Academia and the Rise of Ideological Enforcement

Want some reasons for all of this happening? Glad you asked. In academia, students are removed from classrooms for even questioning dogma on various issues. LGBTQIA, Israel-Gaza conflict, etc. In addition, far too many in education were tolerant of those applauding the assassination of Charlie Kirk, with some even joining them. Many in this world go to great lengths to justify violence to achieve political goals. Of course, those goals must match their ideology.

COVID Lessons and the Expert Class

How about the performance of teachers in refusing to reopen public schools long after COVID could remotely be described as any sort of crisis? They, along with their friends in journalism, urged us to listen to the experts, follow the science, and let the data decide. That is, unless that means a loss of government control over the lives of its fellow citizens.

Censorship in the Name of ‘Protection’

Oh, and all three embraced, and continue to embrace, the concept of government having the authority to regulate speech deemed to be misinformation or disinformation. They do this even after abundant proof exists that the speech they were successful in restricting was, you will pardon the expression, the truth. All of this is done in the name of protecting free speech. A lot of us say, huh?

Entertainment’s Predictable Script

When it comes to the world of entertainment, you cannot even name the last show where a white, male businessman was the good guy and anyone from any of the “preferred and special” groups is the bad person. The Academy Awards have become an exercise is performative virtue signaling and the trashing of anything having anything to do with President Trump. You would think those with money on the table would understand insulting and belittling half of their potential audience is simply bad business. We shall see, but I am not very optimistic.

Media Meltdowns and Selective Outrage

We have saved the best for last—the legacy linear media. This falls into the category of let me count the ways.

President Trump decides to expand and renovate the East Wing of the White House. It is treated as the moral equivalent of blowing up the place. This is a worse sin due to him removing and replacing the members of the United Commission of Fine Arts. Oh, the horror. Never mind that President Truman did the same exact thing. In fact, there have been five previous major innovations, including those done under Presidents Monroe (after the place was burned down in the War of 1812), Teddy Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, and Nixon. Other than it being President Trump, there is no new ground being broken here. Be sure to ignore that Michael LaRosa, former press secretary to Jill Biden, came forward to say the renovation was needed. Even the Washington Post was moved to editorialize in favor of it, much to the consternation of its liberal readers.

The Biden Cover-Up and Bubble Thinking

How about the coverage of President Biden’s obvious cognitive decline? Apparently, the only people who had an iota of trouble noticing and understanding this were those working inside the White House, their cheerleaders in the media, and others living within their bubble. When the scam was up after the horrid debate performance last year, the media had little room to rationalize things, but they did their dishonest best. The problem, you see, was that the dastardly White House misled them.

Selective Outrage on Diversity

African American candidate for Attorney General in Virginia, Jay Jones, literally says he would like to shoot one of his opponents in the General Assembly, as well as the man’s children (you see that person was against gun control, favored by Jones). The incumbent, Jason Miyares, is a Hispanic. The silence condemning Jones, much less celebrating another minority holding office, is deafening. This should not be much of a surprise since the Jamaican born, black female, and former Marine, Winsome Sears is not exactly lining up her endorsements. The problem? Jones is a Democrat, while Miyares and Sears are Republicans. This diversity stuff is tricky. Only now can you say out loud that President Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, is a blithering idiot

When Trolling Works Better Than Truth

While it would be possible and fun to list 20 others, I will close with the recent statement by President Trump that he was not eligible to run for a third term. Instead of treating this for what it was—a successful trolling of all these progressives—this became “forced to acknowledge.” They do not even recognize when they are being played.

A Waning Grip on Culture

Remember this: the Unholy Trinity is quickly losing its grip over public discourse. Consider this to be a blessing. Let’s all celebrate that the future will be one where they are no longer dominant.
