Disturbing Trend: Teen Girls Turning to TikTok for Medical Advice Over Parents or Doctors

A new study sounding the alarm for parents reveals that nearly one in three teen girls now turns to TikTok or Google for medical advice before reaching out to a doctor—or even their own parents. The survey, conducted by the teen health app Luna, highlights a growing trend fueled by embarrassment and fear of judgment, as just 27% of teen girls feel comfortable speaking with a parent about health concerns. Experts warn that while some online content may be helpful, much of it is unverified and potentially harmful. The report urges parents to create open, judgment-free spaces for conversation at home and encourage their daughters to rely on trusted, medically approved sources for advice.
