Democrats are gathering in Minneapolis this week as new party chair Ken Martin faces mounting challenges in leading the Democratic National Committee. Just six months into the role, Martin is trying to rally a fractured party, rebuild donor confidence, and sharpen its message against President Donald Trump. But with fundraising at a five-year low, divisions over issues like the Israel-Hamas war, and frustration among key parts of the Democratic base, the road ahead is anything but simple. While Martin insists there are “no magic fixes,” he says the party must refocus on an economic agenda that can resonate with voters nationwide.
