Students Lead With Kindness: Nearly 600 Good Deeds Completed in Ohio Challenge
In a time when small gestures can make a big difference, students in Ohio are proving just how powerful kindness can be.
A Challenge Rooted in Doing Good
The “Doing A-OK Challenge,” created by a local retired businessman, encourages people to perform simple acts of kindness and inspire others to do the same.
Students at Lima Central Catholic were the first to take it on — and they didn’t hold back.
600 Acts of Kindness in Two Weeks
Led by the school’s H2O (Help to Others) Club, 47 students completed nearly 600 acts of kindness in just two weeks.
From offering encouragement to lending a helping hand or simply greeting someone with a smile, the actions were simple — but impactful.
From Hesitation to Momentum
At first, some students were unsure about taking on the extra effort.
But once the initiative gained traction, participation grew quickly, with students embracing the opportunity to make a difference in their school and community.
A Movement That’s Spreading
Now, the challenge is being passed on to another local school, expanding its reach and encouraging even more students to get involved.
The goal goes beyond the classroom — with organizers inviting the public to join in and help reach one million acts of kindness.
Small Actions, Big Impact
What started as a school project is becoming something bigger — a reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be complicated to matter.
