Minneapolis Shooting Suspect’s Cryptic Writings at Center of FBI Terror Probe

Authorities have identified 23-year-old Robin Westman as the suspect behind Wednesday’s deadly mass shooting at Annunciation Church and Catholic School in Minneapolis. Investigators say Westman opened fire during a school Mass, killing two children and injuring 17 others before taking his own life. At the center of the federal domestic terror investigation are disturbing writings and videos Westman posted online, which included cryptic documents, political ramblings, and footage displaying an arsenal of firearms. Authorities also note the shooter appeared to reference other mass killers and was active in extremist online spaces. While the FBI has labeled the incident an anti-Catholic attack, officials caution that Westman’s exact motives may never be fully understood.
