Patent Office Blocks Belichick Catchphrase Trademarks Filed by Jordon Hudson

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has denied Jordon Hudson’s attempts to trademark four of Bill Belichick’s famous catchphrases, ruling they were too similar to those already owned by the New England Patriots and Robert Kraft. Hudson, Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, filed applications earlier this year for phrases like “Do Your Job (Bill’s Version)” and “No Days Off (Bill’s Version)” through their company TCE Rights Management. Despite trying to differentiate the phrases by adding “(Bill’s Version)”—an apparent nod to Taylor Swift’s re-recordings—the patent office said granting the requests would likely confuse consumers. The decision comes amid a public feud between Belichick and Kraft following the coach’s 2024 departure from the Patriots after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl wins.
