In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the “Washington ‘Whatever’s'” should immediately return to being the Redskins and called for Cleveland to reclaim the Indians name, citing support from Native Americans and a loss of heritage. Both organizations quickly shut down the suggestion. Commanders owner Josh Harris reaffirmed the team has no plans to change course, and Guardians executive Chris Antonetti noted their commitment to building the Guardians brand since 2021.
