Indiana Rep. Bob Heaton Selected for Legislative Committee on Economic Stability

State Rep. Bob Heaton has been appointed to serve on Indiana’s Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance, a legislative panel that will meet throughout the summer and fall to examine pressing issues affecting the state’s economy and financial infrastructure.
Interim study committees provide lawmakers the opportunity to take a deeper dive into complex policy areas during the legislative off-season. These sessions bring together legislators, industry experts, stakeholders, and the public to weigh in on challenges and offer input on potential legislative solutions before the General Assembly reconvenes in January.
“Indiana’s economy depends on strong financial institutions and a stable insurance market,” Heaton said. “These discussions will help us protect consumers, attract investment and keep Indiana competitive.”
The Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance will review a range of topics affecting the financial health of Hoosier families and businesses, from consumer protections to regulatory policies. Committee members will work collaboratively to evaluate proposals, hear testimony, and shape recommendations that could become future legislation.
Rep. Heaton’s appointment reflects his ongoing commitment to economic growth and financial security in Indiana. As a senior member of the House and a longtime advocate for responsible policy development, Heaton brings valuable experience to the table.
