Community Mourns Kentucky High School Student Killed in Crash

Brynn Bentley died following a car crash Friday night in Lincoln County, according to local reports.
Authorities told WKYT that Bentley was driving a Mazda 3 near the intersection of U.S. 127 and Ashe Road when her vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Silverado while attempting to turn onto the highway.
Emergency crews reportedly had to extract Bentley from the vehicle. She was later pronounced dead by the county coroner.
A Student Leader and Athlete
Bentley was a student at Boyle County High School, where school officials said her death has deeply impacted students, faculty, and the broader community.
According to her obituary, Bentley was heavily involved in school leadership and extracurricular activities. She was a member of the National Honor Society, participated in Youth Salute, served as president-elect of HOSA, and was co-captain of the school’s tennis team.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Boyle County Schools said counselors and staff are continuing to support grieving students.
“Please remember, no student has to navigate grief alone,” the district said.
Remembered for Her Faith and Compassion
Family members and loved ones say Bentley’s greatest impact came through the way she treated people.
She was actively involved in the youth ministry program at Southland Christian Church and participated in Young Life.
Her obituary described her as someone who consistently put others before herself.
“Brynn will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her fierce love for Jesus,” the obituary stated.
“She lived each day with a servant’s heart, always placing the needs of others before her own and offering love, encouragement, and compassion to everyone she met.”

In the days following the tragedy, community members have rallied around Bentley’s family.
Friends, classmates, and church members have continued sharing tributes online, remembering Bentley as a bright light who made others feel seen, supported, and loved.
