Tiny Husky Puppy Found in Trash Can Fighting to Recover

According to the Pennsylvania SPCA, the puppy—now named “Miracle”—was rushed to emergency veterinary care after a good Samaritan found her badly hurt and crying out for help.
The tiny husky is believed to be only a few weeks old.
A Rescue Named ‘Miracle’
The injured puppy was first brought to ACCT Philly before being transferred to an animal hospital for emergency treatment.
Shelter officials said Miracle suffered severe head trauma.
“She had sustained severe head trauma. Blood dripped from her nose,” the PSPCA said in a statement.
No one knows how long the puppy had been suffering before she was discovered.
After receiving urgent treatment, Miracle was stabilized and later transferred back to the PSPCA hospital, where she is now receiving around-the-clock care from veterinary staff.
Littermates Also Rescued
During the investigation into Miracle’s condition, authorities located the rest of the litter.
The puppies are now also receiving medical treatment and care.
Once veterinarians determine they are healthy enough, the husky puppies will be placed into foster homes until they are old enough for adoption.
The Importance of Animal Rescue Networks
Stories like Miracle’s highlight the critical role rescue organizations, veterinarians, foster families, and everyday citizens play in animal welfare efforts.
In this case, officials say the quick actions of a good Samaritan likely saved the puppy’s life.
Animal shelters across the country continue to face growing intake numbers, especially during peak spring and summer “puppy season,” when young animals are frequently abandoned or surrendered.
Rescue workers say foster homes are especially important for young puppies who require constant attention, medical monitoring, and socialization.
A Fight for Recovery
For now, shelter workers remain focused on helping Miracle heal.
Despite her injuries and difficult start to life, the tiny puppy’s name reflects what many at the shelter are hoping for:
A second chance.
